I was born with a love of music. when I was five years old, my parents discovered me goofing around on the piano playing television theme songs by ear. My mom knew it was time to sign me up for piano lessons. I began officially studying the piano at age 6 and I haven't stopped since. I also discovered violin when I was 11 and immediately fell in love. Violin has been my main area of focus since then. In 2010, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis in violin pedagogy at Utah Valley University. While there, I studied violin and viola with Dr. Donna Fairbanks, department chair of the UVU School of Music, and piano with Anita Andrews (UVU piano faculty). I also studied string pedagogy with Cynthia Richards, author of "How to Get Your Child to Practice" and creator of "The Complete Musician" pedagogy series based on Kodaly principles. I was concert master of the UVU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and was also a member of the UVU Honors String Quartet. I was awarded the Frances Kennedy Scholarship and received the outstanding music student of the year in 2010. I have participated in master classes with the late Barbara Williams (esteemed violin professor from BYU), Dara Morales (principal 2nd violinist for the Philidelphia Symphony), and Denise Djokic (cellist with Sony Recording Studios). I received a Kodaly certification/endorsement for string/choral pedagogy at Brigham Young University. I have also performed with composers/performers Kurt Bestor, Marden Pond, Michael Martin Murphey, and Sam Cardon. I'm currently a violinist in the Utah Valley Symphony and the Utah Regional Ballet.
